The Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul finally has a start date.
And it’s bigger than we expected.
Better Call Saul, starring Bob Odenkirk, will premiere Sunday, February 8 at 10 p.m. eastern/pacific — right after The Walking Dead mid-season 5 premiere.
Hopefully you fall in love with Saul quickly because the second episode will air one day later — Monday, February 9 at 10 p.m.
From there the show will continue to air new episodes every Monday at 10 p.m.
To celebrate today’s news, a new teaser trailer for Better Call Saul was released online. In it, we see the scene of an apparent crime: A hotel room with a vibrating bed.
The decision to put Saul on Mondays is a big change from how AMC has aired their recent dramas like Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and Mad Men. In recent years, their big shows have aired on Sunday nights.
Having Walking Dead’s mid-season 5 premiere as a lead-in will easily hand Saul major ratings on series premiere night. Time will tell if placing the show on Monday nights is the right call for Saul, but AMC made a smart decision in that the Sunday night schedule across all television channels is already very busy.
The network released a great behind-the-scenes look at Better Call Saul earlier this month — check it out!
