Bloomsbury U.K. has revealed a first look at the forthcoming Tales of Beedle the Bard Illustrated Edition.
J.K. Rowling’s collection of short stories were first referenced in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and went on to receive a printing in the Muggle world in 2008. Now the book is getting its first new edition in a decade.
This new version of The Tales of Beedle the Bard is illustrated by Chris Riddell. Take a look at some of his work for the five short stories. According to the publisher, Dumbledore’s notes will get some illustrations as well.
The book will be published this October and is a part of Bloomsbury and Scholastic’s plan to re-release all of J.K. Rowling’s books in illustrated formats. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them have all had illustrated editions so far. Goblet of Fire will be released in 2019.
No word yet on Quidditch Through the Ages, the third book in the Hogwarts Library box set, but… it’s surely coming.
