Bad Moms did a lot to subvert the overplayed dudebro trope, so naturally, it’s getting a sequel. With dudebros.
Starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn, Bad Moms was hardly the comedy of the century (or even the year).
However, like many recent raunchy comedies, the movie took its cues from Bridesmaids and found its humor not in playing on the old hot girl/loser dude stereotypes (looking at you, Adam Sandler), but by turning those stereotypes on its head and allowing women to inhabit roles traditionally reserved for men.
Maybe this was one of the reasons the movie was such a sleeper hit for STX Entertainment: On a $20 million budget, Bad Moms racked in $170.8 million worldwide, and — because money wants money — STX has decided to continue the franchise.

Not with another Bad Moms, however. They’ve chosen to reverse-Ghostbust our buts and launch their “first brand off-shoot,” Bad Dads, to premiere July 14, 2017.
Hilariously, Bad Moms has already been deemed the female version of The Hangover, so we guess this is just… The Hangover again?
But wait! The ingenuity doesn’t end here! According to the press release, STX is wringing every drop of blood out of this fly with, “a series of film spin-offs, a reality television show, short form digital content, and a robust consumer products program.”
Clearly all of these products will be groundbreaking and super successful, because a Bad Moms cinematic universe inhabited by men is exactly what the world wants right now.
But hey STX, if you ever run out of ideas, you know what’d also be really cool? If we made Tomb Raider… but with a dude. It’s definitely never been done before. ?
