Never underestimate Robert Downey Jr.’s power over Marvel. He just moved the release date of The Avengers: Infinity War up one week.
In a (totally planned) exchange on Twitter, the Iron Man actor asked Marvel if he and his friends — meaning everyone in the world — could see the movie a week early.
Here’s how it went down:

Avengers: Infinity War was originally scheduled for a May 4, 2018 release. With this new late-April date, “summer movie season” now starts even earlier. Or is there no longer a start to the “summer movie season”?
I think Black Panther, and others, have recently proved that a major movie does not need to be released in the warmer months.

Foreign markets already had an April 27 date for Infinity War. Now Americans won’t have to worry about spoilers surfacing online!
