Captain America 4 is officially on the way and Anthony Mackie is already on board to star in the upcoming feature.
According to Variety, actor Anthony Mackie has officially signed on to star as the shield wielding superhero in Captain America 4.
Today’s big news comes on the heels of Mackie reprising his MCU role as Sam Wilson in Marvel and Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Solider.
The Marvel limited series followed along as Sam grappled with Steve bequeathing Cap’s shield unto him following the events of Avengers: Endgame, before finally assuming his rightful spot as the world’s new Captain America.

Also attached to Captain America 4 is Malcolm Spellman.
Spellman served as the head writer on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and is also set to co-write the script for Marvel’s fourth Cap movie.
Still unknown is who will serve as director on the project.
Also unclear is whether or not any of Mackie’s fellow The Falcon and the Winter Solider co-stars, such as Sebastian Stan, will also sign on for the movie.
Either way, we’re sure Marvel fans will be looking forward to following along with updates as the film moves further and further into development.
