Yeah, yeah. Most actors in a film talk up their movie whether or not it’s actually any good. Shia LeBeouf did it for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Neil Patrick Harris did it for The Smurfs, and so on and so forth.
However, what Anne Hathaway has to say about next Summer’s The Dark Knight Rises goes past what is necessary to keep her job and transcends into “this has really gotten us more excited for the movie and we didn’t think that was possible” territory.
In a recent interview with Shockya, Anne Hathaway reveals that she was frustrated with the stills that were released online, but not because of fan reactions.
“It’s disappointing. I think everyone feels a slight frustration with it because those stills so undercut the work that’s being done.”
That’s right. The released screencaps from The Dark Knight Rises aren’t good enough for The Dark Knight Rises. When asked if the production team was nervous about the negative fan reactions, Hathaway reacted very confidently.
“No, no one’s nervous about it. I mean, honestly, like, wait till you see this movie.”
What? Well, how good could the script possibly be?
“Chris is doing insane things in it. And it’s gonna be marvelous and it’s gonna be way beyond what anyone imagines that it could be. You can’t imagine the things that he’s doing, at least I couldn’t until I read the script and I was like, ‘You’re really? Okay, you’re going there!’ And it’s Chris Nolan; even the picture that he released of me, that’s not everything. That’s like a tenth of what the catsuit is. And I’ve got to say, I find it frustrating and I know he finds it frustrating, but I also think that he’s having fun with it, kind of like spooning out secrets. He has a lot more control than you think.”
Wow. We know that every actor likes to hype up their movie as the next big thing before the release, but this is a pretty flattering reaction to what is essentially just words on paper at this point.
We also noted that she has re-iterated that “you’ve only seen ten percent of what the ‘catsuit’ can do.” She definitely called it a “catsuit”. Is she just talking about the ears that her goggles look like they will form when put on her head? Is she talking about awesome secret features like the retractable claws we speculated about earlier?
What do you think? Will The Dark Knight Rises blow people away like Hathaway seems to think that it will? Will it fall prey the trilogy curse and be unable to be a suitable follow up to The Dark Knight?
