While we may be used to seeing the BAFTA winner as Sherlock‘s arch-nemesis Jim Moriarty, a new still shows Andrew Scott playing a very different character – and there’s no Vivienne Westwood in sight!
In Blackout, Scott plays troubled cop Dalien Bevan who becomes obsessed with his ex-wife. It’s certainly a departure from Moriarty, who would consider the current role to be “on the side of the angels.” The Radio Times describes his performance as “a bundle of febrile energy.”

The gritty political/murder drama sees Scott reunited with Christopher Eccleston who most notably played the Ninth Doctor in the first series of the Doctor Who revival. Blackout airs in the U.K. on BBC One next Monday, July 2 at 9 p.m.
What do you think of the photo? Are you looking forward to seeing the BAFTA-winning actor take on a different role?
