Olivia Rodrigo fans itching for new music from the pop star will want to keep an eye on tonight’s new episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
The sixth episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 2 will find Olivia Rodrigo performing a brand new song as Nini. Much like the series’ season 1 hit, “All I Want,” the show’s newest original song, “The Rose Song,” was written and recorded by Rodrigo herself.
You’ll have to wait until tomorrow (June 18) to hear the song in full, but for those who just can’t wait, but thanks to the LA Times, you can check out a sneak peek of the ballad right now.
As fans who’ve been following along with the newest season will know, season 2 found Nini grappling with trying to find her place in an all new performing arts school. Ultimately, however, she decided that the best place for her to flourish was among her fellow Wildcats at East High.
For a minute, it seemed like Nini might not be hitting the stage with the rest of the crew for the winter musical, last episode found Miss Jen hatching a plan to give Nini a part in addition to giving East High an edge on the competition at the Alan Menken Awards.
Olivia Rodrigo’s newest original track for the hit Disney+ original series comes about after she gets cast in the role of the Rose in Beauty and the Beast and proceeds to write a song for her new part.
