Lynsay Sands packs action, love, and adventure in Immortal Unchained with a story so riveting you won’t want to put it down until you finish.
About ‘Immortal Unchained’:
Ever since Domitian Argenis recognized Sarita as his life mate, he’s been waiting for the perfect moment to claim her. Those fantasies did not include him being chained to a table in a secret lab or both of them being held hostage by a mad scientist. Somehow, they have to escape…
Sarita has seen some crazy things as a cop, but nothing to rival Domitian. A vampire? Seriously? But his healing ability, incredible powers, and their mind-blowing physical connection—none of it should be possible, yet her body knows differently. Now, not only do they have to save each other, but other innocent lives are at stake. Failure is not an option, for Sarita intends that Domitian show her exactly what an eternity of pleasure feels like…
‘Immortal Unchained’ review:
Admittedly the Argeneau series is one of the first that I read when I discovered the sub-genre of Paranormal Romance. Even though I haven’t loved every book in the series, it’s one that I keep coming back to. In general, Lynsay Sands is a great writer and has the ability to balance romance with some comic relief and adventure.
A few of her more recent novels in the series weren’t as appealing to me as her others, so I was a bit worried that Immortal Unchained would have the same affect.
None the less, I felt compelled to read it and was happily surprised to find how entertaining I found it. The back drop of the story involved a mad scientist, human/animal hybrids, a mysterious island, and immortals being abducted for experiments. I had a very hard time putting the novel down once I had started it!
The novel also had an interesting twist that others haven’t (that I recall). Sarita learned about immortals and the meaning of life mates before she met Domitian, thanks to the crazy scientist that keeps them captive. This detail allows for their romance to take off right from the start rather than a slow burn.
If you enjoy strong heroines than Sarita is perfect for you, she’s intelligent, strong, and sassy. As a cop, she doesn’t bat her eye at the problems thrown her way and quickly works to try and solve them.
That doesn’t mean that she’s immune to a hunk when she sees one. Sarita’s sassy attitude mixed with an adoring male results in fireworks on the pages of Immortal Unchained. I don’t blame Sarita for falling for Domitian and it was a fun read that has me excited for what might come next in the series.
As an added bonus, there are many familiar characters that pop up from the series!
