The Academy has announced who’ll perform the 2017 Oscars’ Best Song nominees!
As is tradition, all five nominees will be performed live during the three-hour ceremony.
Lin-Manuel Miranda and Moana star Auli’i Cravalho will perform the animated musical’s “How Far I’ll Go,” which was penned by the Hamilton creator.
Meanwhile, Sting will perform “The Empty Chair,” the song he co-wrote for Jim: The James Foley Story, Justin Timberlake will perform “Can’t Stop The Feeling” from Trolls, and finally, John Legend will perform “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)” and “City of Stars” from La La Land.
Might we get surprise appearances from Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone for the La La Land performances? Seems only right.
“We’re thrilled to welcome these world-class artists to the Oscars. These performances will not only celebrate the five extraordinary nominated original songs, but also the integral part music plays in movies,” said Oscar producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd.
The 2017 Oscars will be broadcast live Sunday, February 26 and are hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
