The cast of Prison Break hit Hall H at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con where they premiered a brand new clip from the upcoming season.
Before they rolled the brand new footage, showrunner Vaun Wilmott, gave us a bit more context as to where we can expect to see it come into play when the new season picks back up again on Fox.
“It’s from our second episode and I think you’ll immediately get the sense that this is a new world,” explained Wilmott. “You’ll immediately get a sense that this is a new world, a new exciting place. This is Michael doing what Michael does so well.”
As for the panel itself, it was a mix of new information and general nostalgia as the cast reminisced on what it was like filming the original four seasons, and what it was like coming back to the show after so many years.
Here are some of the most interesting tidbits we learned from the Prison Break panel:
- It’s been years since Prison Break ruled the airwaves, but it’s clear there’s still a lot of love for the show. That’s something showrunner Vaun Wilmott credits to the fundamental basis the story is based on.
“It resonates because of the bond between the brothers and the simple idea that you’re willing to do whatever it takes for someone you love,” said Wilmott.
- T-Bag and Sara Tancredi may have had some memorable moments together during the original run of the series, but according to actor Robert Knepper, we’ll get to see the two interact much more this time around.
“There’s some really juicy scenes [between T-Bag and Sara],” said Knepper. - Michael Scofield’s tattoos are back but they’re a bit different this time. According to actor Wentworth Miller, they’ll be a bit different from the signature blueprints that used to span across his character’s entire body. From a technical standpoint, Miller also revealed that it’s much easier to get them applied this time around. “It only took a half hour, but it was every single day,” said Miller.
- A Flash and Prison Break crossover? It’s very unlikely, but even so, Miller thinks it would be interesting to see Michael step into the world of DC Comics. “He’s always had a superhero facet,” said Miller. “He can do what others cannot. I don’t think he and Snart would get along necessary because Snart doesn’t get along with anybody, [but] it would be interesting.”
- Finally, on the subject of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, Miller admitted that while he has a lot of love for Michael, Captain Cold holds a special place in his heart. “Captain Cold is probably my favorite character to play— he’s just a good time,” explained Miller. “He gets to come in, do his thing, and then scram.”
