Another casting announcement for Quantico season 2 provides some valuable information about what’s in store for Alex.
When the show premieres on September 25, there will be some new faces for us to get to know. We reported earlier that Russell Tovey would be joining the cast of characters surrounding Alex Parrish in Quantico season 2, and we’ve just learned that Blair Underwood will also be involved in the season.
Agents of SHIELD fans will recognize Underwood from his role as Andrew Garner on the Marvel series. EW reported that Underwood will play the character of Owen Hall on Quantico. He’s described as a “charming, direct, and intelligent CIA officer that every fledgling operative wishes he or she could learn from.” It sounds like Alex could learn a lot from him at the CIA, but let’s not forget what happened with the last authority figure she got close to!

Quantico showrunner Josh Safran expressed his excitement about the casting. “Blair Underwood is the kind of actor you dream of writing for,” he stated. Whether he’ll be a friend to Alex, or another enemy, it’ll be great to see him acting alongside the characters we already know and love.
With every piece of news and casting information that we get about season 2, we also get a better understanding of what Alex’s new landscape will look like. We know she’s taking a job at the CIA, so there should be a lot more people added to the cast to fill out her new work environment. Underwood’s casting suggests that Alex will be going through some sort of training period in this season, rather than jumping into the field with her colleagues.
