After a total of 94 days of shooting, The Maze Runner sequel The Scorch Trials has officially wrapped for filming!
During the wee hours of the morning director Wes Ball tweeted out that The Scorch Trials set had officially closed for filming. Keeping it short and sweet with a “That’s a wrap!” on his Twitter page.

Throughout the week the cast and crew have been slowly parting ways, some sharing their goodbyes across social media. Katherine McNamara, who joined the cast as Sonya this year, has been sharing fun photos of the group on and off while filming.
Here are pictures from their wrap party:

From what we can tell, it’s been a fast and brutal filming schedule for the cast. With long cold nights and lots of trying to stay warm. But if they needed any motivation for all the work they’ve been investing into the film, fans have definitely been cheering them along.
Not only did The Maze Runner far exceed expectations at the box office (now with a total worldwide gross of 340 million), the sequel has created a lot of buzz for itself as well.
For example, in MTV’s Movie Brawl Poll, The Scorch Trials has lasted to the final round as most anticipated movie of 2015. Going up against Mockingjay Part 2 in its final bracket of competition. Which may seem like a small thing on the surface but beating out huge franchise films like Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars, and Ant-Man is something to take note of.
This little underdog franchise has even managed to beat out the big guilty pleasure movies of the year like Magic Mike XXL and Fifty Shades of Grey.
Again, this doesn’t mean the film is locked in as a multi-billion-dollar success. But it proves a point: that this film is a legitimate contender and there is a very real and passionate fanbase out there excited for this film.
Voting lasts until tomorrow if you want to give The Scorch Trials a final boost!
The Maze Runner Chapter II: The Scorch Trials is set for release September 18, 2015.
