Fandango has released their list of most anticipated movies of 2015, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens tops the list, with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Mockingjay – Part 2 right behind.
Each year Fandango releases many lists of what their readers are most excited about, and 2015 seems to be the year of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Despite the franchise being inactive for a decade, The Force Awakens has brought Star Wars fans out of the woodwork and piqued the interest of many new fans.

Next on the list is Avengers: Age of Ultron, which isn’t entirely surprising, but it should be one of the better franchise films of 2015. The trailer broke records after leaking online early, and it’s sure to have fans coming to the theater in droves when it’s released May 1, 2015.

Coming in third is The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, starring Jennifer Lawrence. Mockingjay – Part 1 was a massive hit this year, pulling in $669 million worldwide. With this being the final film, we expect Mockingjay – Part 2 to be absolutely massive. It also has non-fans excited to see how the story wraps up, after the first film became a cultural sensation, and also made Jennifer Lawrence one of the biggest stars in the world.

The fourth most anticipated movie of 2015 is a bit of a surprise, as Fifty Shades of Grey takes the spot. We know the books were unbelievably massive, but the fandom has died down a bit since everyone (including your mother, sadly) had finished reading the books. The movie’s cast isn’t too impressive, but the trailer has been somewhat well received. We’ll look to see how fans respond to the film adaptation, and how the director was able to get the content into your local theater without diluting it too much.

The fifth most anticipated movie for 2015 is Jurassic World. This film’s trailer sparked a massive response from fans of the original film, and it also did a great job of bringing new fans into the franchise. With Chris Pratt starring alongside Bryce Dallas Howard, we think this will be one monster hit at the box office. Pratt looks promising as the raptor wrangler, and we hope this film renews the dinosaur franchise.
