NBC has debuted the Parks and Rec mini webisode, “The Hapley Group.” Perd Hapley gathers Pawnee’s finest to discuss the hard-hitting issues.
If any man is going to gather Pawnee’s finest together for a lively debate, it’s Perd Hapley. He may have no idea what’s going on at any given moment, but he’s always at the center of the action. Check out the debut of “The Hapley Group” with Perd, Crazy Ira, The Douche, Joan Callamezzo and Mike Patterson, which airs 2:45 to 6:45 p.m. on Pawnee public access TV, naturally.
As suspected, “The Hapley Group” is Pawnee’s far less classy version of “Meet the Press.” Nearly every aspect of media is featured. Crazy Ira and The Douche from the radio. Joan Callamezzo, Perd and Mike Patterson from TV. But no traditional print media? Was Shauna Malwae-Tweep not available?
Every character has been featured in Parks and Rec’s extended universe before, save for Mike Patterson (played by hilarious Happy Endings alum Seth Morris). Patterson is a new character and Eagleton media personality who will be debuting later in the season and seems like the epitome of Eagleton: conservative, angry and well-dressed (“If Ronald Reagan were alive today, and there’s no reason he shouldn’t be…”)
The guests discuss the issues most pressing to Pawnee: the Olympics (which have kept Parks and Rec off the air for three weeks), Obamacare and the smoking ban in Pawnee.
Parks and Recreation finally returns with new episodes this Thursday, February 27 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
