Samuel L. Jackson accidently confirms that Elizabeth Olsen has joined the cast of The Avengers: Age of Ultron in a new interview.
While there have been rumors that Elizabeth Olsen has been eyed for the role of Scarlet Witch in The Avengers sequel, Marvel certainly hasn’t announced it officially. But during a Wall Street Journal interview with Samuel L. Jackson, he lets slip that she has joined the cast.
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year, I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. Olsen , but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
While he doesn’t confirm that she will be playing Scarlet Witch, we know that she read for the part, so if she’s been cast that’s the role she’ll be portraying. Her brother in the film will most likely be Aaron-Taylor Johnson, who has hinted multiple times that he’s been reading up on the character Quicksilver.
Olsen is definitely talented, so we look forward to seeing her take on Scarlet Witch, said to be one of Joss Whedon’s favorite characters. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are actually mutants, and were son and daughter of X-Men’s Magneto in the comic world.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron release date is set for May 1, 2015.
