AMC’s new drama Line Of Sight has signed The Walking Dead star David Morrissey for its lead role.
Line Of Sight follows a NTSB investigator who “survives a mysterious plane crash, bringing him on an emotionally disorienting quest to discover the accident’s cause,” according to Deadline who broke the news of Morrissey’s casting.
The pilot for Line of Sight will shoot in Atlanta, the same place that The Walking Dead has filmed all four seasons. For this reason AMC emphasizes that The Governor’s death on Dead is not imminent, but they could be bluffing to stop any speculation.
Said AMC in a statement, “We are huge fans of David Morrissey and are glad he’ll be doing double duty for AMC viewers through his work on The Walking Dead and our pilot for Line Of Sight.”
In July we told you that The Governor will only have a major role in two episodes of The Walking Dead season 4 which suggests Morrissey has plenty of time to work on his new pilot. Our thinking is that things have to come to a head at some point between Rick and The Governor, and perhaps we’re going to have to wait until season 5 to see the former Woodbury leader’s demise.
The Walking Dead season 4 premieres in mid October on AMC.
You’ve heard our thoughts and now it’s your turn: What do you think will happen to The Governor in the season(s) ahead?
Thanks, Deadline.
