A famous film actor will be guest starring in season 6 of Parks of Recreation as Ron Swanson’s rival/doppelganger. And yes, he has a mustache.
The casting call for the character of Ron Swanson’s Eagleton counterpart must have simply read: “Must have full, glorious mustache.” Thankfully, the casting department followed through and found their man.
Sam Elliott, best known for his roles in Tombstone, Hulk (the not decent one) and as the unnamed narrator in The Big Lebowski, has been cast in a season 6 episode of Parks and Recreation as a high-ranking parks and recreation official in Eagleton, Indiana.
We don’t know the character’s name yet, but he will reportedly have more than a few traits in common with everyone’s favorite curmudgeonly libertarian, Ron Swanson.
Elliott will appear in the same episode as Kristen Bell, who will be portraying Leslie Knope’s “richer and better dressed” equivalent.
It seems as though rival towns Pawnee and Eagleton will both finally acknowledge that they are twisted mirror images of each other, right down to their public employees.
It all begs the question what else in Eagleton has a Pawnee counterpart? Maybe instead of a small horse named Lil Sebastian, they have an uncommonly large pony named Big Wolfgang.
