The first video clip from JOBS, which stars Ashton Kutcher as Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs has been released.
In the clip, Jobs talks to Steve Wozniak (played by Josh Gad) about the idea of an operating system and the public purchasing personal computers. Jobs is trying to convince Wozniak to bring his idea to the masses.
“Nobody wants to buy a computer,” says Wozniak.
“How does somebody know what they want if they’ve never even seen it?” Jobs replies. Part of Jobs’ legacy was his knowing of what consumers would want in the future.
We actually think Kutcher pulls off the role of Jobs pretty well, but the actor doesn’t appear to sound much different than his real life self, which takes away from the portrayal a little bit. We’re liking Gad’s role as Wozniak thanks in part to the quirky, nerdy voice.
JOBS will hit theaters April 19. It is directed by Joshua Michael Stern. Other cast members include Dermot Mulroney, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons and Matthew Modine.
This film is not to be confused with the Steve Jobs biopic being developed by The Newsroom creator Aaron Sorkin, who’s basing his story off of the Walter Isaacson tell-all entitled Steve Jobs and released shortly after Jobs’ death.
