The midseason finale of Revolution, “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” was a wild ride full of twists, turns, and a huge cliffhanger. What did you think?
The present-day portion of Revolution opens with Miles, Charlie and the rest of the gang at the house of Kip, an old friend of Miles. Out of nowhere, in bursts Captain Neville, who takes Charlie, Nora, and Aaron captive. Luckily for them, Miles busts in and saves the day (like always), but not before Charlie was taken.
After a not-so-touching mother daughter scene filled with painful dialogue, we are back to Miles, who is holding Neville’s wife at sword-point. He makes a deal – Neville’s wife for his friends, and Neville reluctantly agreed.
The family, although not under a good situation, is now back together. Rachel was given two options – build the amplifier or one of her children were shot. (Boy, this episode has a lot of family decisions.) Charlie volunteers to die, but her mom steps in, saying that she would build the amplifier. Charlie and Danny get locked in a cell, but cleverly knock out the guard with a vent cover, escaping.
Meanwhile, Nora and Miles attempt to go into the power plant to break Charlie and Danny out, leaving Aaron outside with a bag of pipe bombs. (Foreshadowing!)
Rachel, who has now completed the amplifier has suddenly become brutal. She attacks Strausser with a hammer, and after a quick fight, she stabs him in the stomach. Miles comes in to save Rachel and she slaps him.
Danny and Charie get into a gun fight with some of the guards as they try to escape, but Miles and Nora happen to be coming through at the same moment. They help save Danny and Charlie, but run into Monroe. (No surprise there…) Miles tells Nora, Danny, and Charlie to leave, leaving him alone with Monroe.
In the climactic portion of the episode, Monroe asks Miles to come back and join the Militia in his typically calm manner. Miles, after a long period of hesitation, denies the offer. Sword fighting ensues, since neither of them actually managed to keep hold of their guns (and sword fights are cooler), with Baker and his men joining in as Monroe’s backup. Miles, seeing few positive outcomes to this fight, frantically escapes out the window.
Aaron, in his shining moment of glory, attempts to light the pipe bombs, but fails with all of his matches, resorting to flint and steel. He finally lights the bombs, blowing a hole in the wall for everybody to escape.
In the final moments of the episode, everyone is reunited, running happily in a grass field. Unfortunately, the moment was dampened by the fact that Monroe now has power – both in the form of electricity and helicopters. He unleashes his (mediocre) army of airborne battle-helicopters to attack the Matheson family (plus Nora and Aaron). The screen cuts to black, leaving us with the teased cliffhanger, only to be resolved in the next episode of Revolution … in four months!
