Earlier this month Amazon announced a $1000 Harry Potter filmmaking box set which offers up never-before-seen writing about the creation of the franchise.
Now a promotional video has been released and tries to sell you on the huge price tag.
We have to admit, after watching this video you’ll feel pretty enticed to purchase. We get to look at a few of the pages in the books, and our favorite may just be the one which showcases the various paintings within the school and seen on film.
“The set is limited to just 3000 copies worldwide,” an English-accented narrator explains. “Seven of the volumes were created expressly for this collection and delve into different aspects of the filmmaking, showing how the team designed graphics, creatures, costumes, and special effects. A book of the paintings of Hogwarts showcases the exquisite artistry of each.”
Watch the video on Entertainment Weekly’s site (not embeddable).
Our original story on this product in September detailed what each of the books in this box set offers. You can also see many photos of the entire set.
“This limited edition is the ultimate collectible for any wizard or Muggle,” says the man in the video. We think it would’ve been nice if this set at least included copies of the movies or J.K. Rowling’s books to make the set more worthwhile and expansive.
Does the new video make Harry Potter: Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey any more worth the price tag? Keep in mind that Amazon is offering it for a discounted price of $600. It will be available on December 4.
