Actress Renee Zellweger has responded to internet chatter about her surprising new appearance by saying she’s living a more relaxed, healthier, and happier lifestyle.
The internet spent Tuesday debating what appears to be a new look (pictured below) for Zellweger after she attended an event on Monday night in Beverly Hills.
“I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows,” she told People Magazine in a statement.
Zellweger says that a busy work schedule kept her from being healthy, but now that’s changed. “My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy,” she said. “For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.”
Zellweger, who’s now 45, says that she’s pursued a more relaxed lifestyle as of late with boyfriend Doyle Bramhall.
“I did work that allows for being still, making a home, loving someone, learning new things, growing as a creative person and finally growing into myself,” she said, adding, “People don’t know me in my 40s.”
“People don’t know me [as] healthy for a while,” says Zellweger. “Perhaps I look different. Who doesn’t as they get older?! Ha. But I am different. I’m happy.”
While Zellweger obviously didn’t admit in her statement that she’s had surgery – which is widely alleged – she’s suggesting that any changes she’s made have allowed her to live a healthier life.
Many around the internet spent Tuesday wondering why Zellweger deemed any changes necessary because she looked beautiful as she was. The photo at the top of this article is from the 2009 film New In Town.
