A new clip from Divergent shows a truncated version of the Tris and Four knife throwing scene you’ll see in theaters on March 21!
Readers may recall that this scene occurs during training when Eric (Jai Courtney) decides that Al needs to be punished. When he asks his initiate to step in front of the knife boards so Four (Theo James) can throw knives at him to see if he’ll flinch, Tris (Shailene Woodley) speaks up and questions the purpose of the punishment. Eric then tells her to step in for Al, and Four begins throwing knives at her.
This version of the clip is shorter than what you’ll see in theaters (we know for sure that a line from Eric was cut from this promotional clip).

The best line is at the end when Four tells Tris, “If I wanted to hurt you, I would have.” It’s one of the first signs of Four’s interest in her.
Even though there’s not much dialogue between them in this short clip, what do you think of the chemistry between Tris and Four? And would you let knives be thrown at you with such precision by the male lead?
A couple other Divergent clips were released in the past week. Check out Jeanine putting Four under a simulation, Eric warning Dauntless initiates that they could get cut and become factionless, and Tris breaking free of her simulation (thus becoming a danger to society).
Hypable attended a media event for Divergent over the weekend and will share more closer to the theatrical release in just under two weeks.
