The star of the hit HBO series Girls will host Saturday Night Live for the first time next month.
NBC announced today via a press release that Girls star and producer Lena Dunham will host Saturday Night Live on March 8 alongside musical guest The National. Both Dunham and The National will be making their debut appearances on the late night comedy show.
Dunham tweeted her excitement about the announcement earlier today:

It looks like Dunham is excited to make her debut appearance as host of Saturday Night Live in March along with the other female cast members. Dunham is known for her smart, feminist comedy on Girls which is currently in its third season on HBO. Dunham has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards for her work on Girls and took home 3 Golden Globe awards in 2013.
