As promised, CBS has released the pilot episode of their Rupert Grint-led comedy Super Clyde for free online viewing.
Starring Grint and Stephen Fry, Super Clyde follows “a shy comic book fanatic [Grint] who discovers his calling after he inherits millions of dollars from his eccentric uncle. Clyde, a mild mannered fast food worker, is bequeathed $100,000 per month for the rest of his life and with the help of his butler, Randolph (Stephen Fry), Clyde begins his thrilling new life as a Super Hero, secretly helping strangers in need.”
The series was created by The Millers‘ Greg Garcia who in a statement says that he’s really proud of how the episode turned out and is thrilled that CBS decided to share the pilot online.
The show was unfortunately not picked up for a season by CBS, but the network decided to release the show online so his loyal fans could preview what it would’ve been like to see Grint on their television screens on a weekly basis.
You can watch the episode over on CBS’ website.
It’s typical for networks to pilot several shows before the fall season and then make a decision as to whether or not the show will get a full (or even partial) order. Although CBS hasn’t picked it up, there’s always the chance that another network could look at it and purchase it themselves. All it takes is a couple of people believing in it at a network.
Watch the pilot then come back to tell us…
What do you think of the Rupert Grint-led ‘Super Clyde’?
Looking at the comments on CBS’ website, most people seem to have really enjoyed the 22-minute pilot episode. Perhaps if enough people rally behind it, CBS or another network will take interest in bringing it back to life.
