NBC has announced that the legendary songstress will perform her new single on the talent competition’s two-hour finale on June 18.
Cher will be performing her new single, “Woman’s World,” off of her forthcoming album of the same name. The album, which is set for release later this year, will be Cher’s first album in 12 years. Her last album, Living Proof, came out in 2001, with the lead single “Song for the Lonely.”
The 67-year-old Grammy, Oscar, and Emmy winner has had a number one hit in each of the last six decades, including 1998’s “Believe,” 1989’s “If I Could Turn Back Time,” and 1971’s “Gypsys, Tramps, & Thieves,” all the way back to her hits with husband Sonny Bono back in the ’60s, including the iconic, “I Got You Babe.”
Cher has of course gone on to have a successful acting career, appearing on TV, on Broadway, and on film, most recently in Burlesque, with The Voice‘s own Christina Aguilera.
Cher joins what has already been an impressive line-up of live guest performances this season, including Rod Stewart, Lady Antebellum, Robin Thicke, and Sheryl Crow. There will likely be a number of other big-name stars joining Cher for the finale, as the season 3 finale featured Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Bruno Mars, Smokey Robinson, The Killers, and Peter Frampton.
Tonight’s semi-final results show will feature a live performance by Fall Out Boy of their hit “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light ‘Em Up),” as well as previous The Voice finalists Tony Lucca, Nicholas David, and Terry McDermott.
