After an entrance with more wub-wubs than a dubstep show, Peter Moore, boss of EA, introduced a lineup of next-gen (and not so next-gen) titles.
A trailer for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare kicked things off in a rather amusing manner.
Garden Warfare, an action game with up to four player co-op, is coming to X360 and Xbox One. Each player takes on the role of different plants, like peashooters, to help fight off the zombies. Sunflowers act as healers. A first look at its gameplay followed.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will release “exclusively first” on Xbox One and Xbox 360 in Spring 2014.
EA talked at great length about the new engines they’ve developed to take advantage of next-gen hardware. One of the games featured in the teaser was Star Wars: Battlefront. Only a short teaser trailer was released, but it’s enough to get us excited!
A long-awaited sequel to Mirror’s Edge was announced by DICE. A teaser trailer showed off protagonist Faith getting her eye tattoo, cut between shots of her fighting and running.
Dragon Age: Inquisition was given a release window of Fall 2014 – and we got our first trailer for the Bioware RPG, featuring Morrigan, lots of fireballs, and a dragon. Bioware are clearly being allowed to take their time with the next installment in the Dragon Age franchise, as it had originally been projected to release in Fall 2013.
Impressive multiplayer footage of Battlefield 4 was shown, with 64 players playing live in the conference hall, but the footage seemed rather out of place amongst the other titles. However, the audience were shown that at least some of the buildings in Battlefield 4 are fully destructable, as was made fully clear when a collosal skyscraper tumbled to the ground.
