Veronica Mars will indeed reunite with Logan Echolls in the upcoming Veronica Mars movie.
Actor Jason Dohring has officially joined the film, according to TVLine.
Since he was part of the video announcing the Kickstarter project that quickly raised more than $2 million for the highly anticipated movie, it was to be expected that Dohring would reprise his role as Neptune High’s “obligatory psychotic jackass” turned love interest. However, creator Rob Thomas made the official announcement in a Kickstarter update on Tuesday. Logan is coming back to Neptune!
He becomes the second actor to officially join the movie, though Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas) and Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars) are also expected to be part of the film, since they were both involved in the movie announcement video last month.
“We’re busily working on bringing your favorites into the fold,” Thomas assured fans in the Kickstarter update.
The Veronica Mars movie, which will see Kristen Bell’s character returning to Neptune for her 10-year high school reunion, begins shooting this summer and is set to premiere in early 2014. According to Thomas, Veronica hasn’t seen Logan in 9 years but will be dating someone at the start of the movie.
Having raised nearly $4.5 million, the VM Kickstarter is still taking donations. The more money raised, the bigger the movie’s “car chase and nudity fund.”
