TotalFilm has a nice first look at various characters in the upcoming Pixar film Monsters University. In it, we get a first look at young Randall before he turns evil.
Not only does Randall appear to be nicer during his younger years, but the trailer released earlier this month appears to indicate that Mike had a good friendship with him. Maybe in this prequel we will learn why the character turned bad, or at least has a rivalry with Mike and Sulley.
These eight character posters unveil five new monsters we can expect to see this summer. Unfortunately no additional details were released about their roles. We can decipher that Dean Hardscrabble and Don Carlton are an employee and student respectively. Scott “Squishy” Squibbles, Terri & Terri Perry, and Art are incoming students.

Also released today were these characters’ identification cards for access around the Monsters University campus. In Pixar’s typical sense of humor, Mike can barely be seen in his photo due to his height. Additionally, the two-headed Terri & Terri Perry have trouble getting only one head or the other into the frame.

Monsters University is the prequel to Monsters, Inc. and will hit theaters this June. Last week a “Message From the Dean” video was unveiled in which we were encouraged to enroll in the monster school. The feature offered up great looks at the film and showed off the beautiful, digital detail within the creatures. In other Pixar news, yesterday Toy Story 4 rumors began floating around the Internet which Disney ultimately deemed not true.
