Muse – The 2nd Law
Muse took inspiration from dubstep in its sixth studio album, The 2nd Law, named after the second law of thermodynamics. Its first single, “Survival,” was the official song of the 2012 London Olympics. Listen to the album’s second single, “Madness,” below and stream the full album on iTunes for free.
Cher Lloyd – Sticks & Stones
It’s been out for more than a year in the U.K., but Cher Lloyd will make her U.S. debut with Sticks & Stones Oct. 2. The X Factor U.K. alum had success with her album in the U.K., which peaked at No. 4.
Oct. 9
Ellie Goulding – Halcyon
Ellie Goulding will follow up her uber popular debut album Lights with the 12-track Halcyon. Check out lead single “Anything Could Happen” below.
Freelance Whales – Diluvia
The indie rock band (whose band member Chuck Criss is brother to Starkid/Glee‘s Darren Criss) is back with its second album, Diluvia – a name relating to a drift due to flooding. The Freelance Whales will hit the road starting Oct. 4 in Chicago, hitting up 23 cities across the U.S. and Mexico, before wrapping things up in Boston on Nov. 3. Stream the whole album at NPR.
Coheed and Cambria – The Afterman: Ascension
Coheed and Cambria’s first album since 2010’s Year of the Black Rainbow will be released in two parts – the first, The Afterman: Ascension, out this month, and The Afterman: Descension out in February 2013. Coheed and Cambria are on tour in the U.S. through Oct. 28. They’ll head to Europe Oct. 31 through Nov. 12.

Leona Lewis – Glassheart
Although it doesn’t have a confirmed U.S. release date yet, Leona Lewis’ third studio album, Glassheart, will be available for U.K. fans this month. “Musically, it hasn’t gone in to a completely new direction,” Lewis told the Birmingham Mail. “It’s still a classic ‘me’ album with some big Whitney-esque and Mariah-esque songs, that I love.”
Oct. 16
Brandy – Two Eleven
Named as a reference to her birthday and the day her idol Whitney Houston died, Two Eleven is Brandy’s sixth studio album, and first since 2008’s Human. Monica and Chris Brown are featured in the new album, as is a rumored Drake collaboration.
Jason Aldean – Night Train
Jason Aldean’s fifth studio album, Night Train, will feature collaborations with country stars Luke Bryan and Eric Church. “There are some surprises on there that might raise a few eyebrows, and there’s also some more traditional stuff too. I don’t like being put in a box, and I think with every record, we’ve had a lot of variety…Night Train is no different,” he told Billboard.

Taylor Swift – Red
Taylor Swift is already topping the charts with the first two singles off Red, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” (which Hanson covered for an Australian radio station) and “Begin Again.” It looks like she’ll to blowg us all away with her fourth studio album.

Colbie Caillat – Christmas in the Sand
Colbie Caillat puts a sunny California spin on the holiday season by spending Christmas in the Sand, featuring Gavin DeGraw and Brad Paisley on “Baby It’s Cold Outside” and “Merry Christmas Baby,” respectively.
Kendrick Lamar – good kid, m.A.A.d city
Up-and-coming rapper Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city will feature Lady Gaga and Drake – big names for a debut album. The album cover is a family picture of a young Lamar with his uncles and grandfather because “It’s not just music to me. This is a story about the youth and the people they call delinquents in my city,” Lamar told Fuse about his album.

Cee Lo Green – CeeLo’s Magic Moment
Cee Lo enlists the voices of Christina Aguilera, Rod Stewart, The Muppets and professional a cappella group Straight No Chaser for his upcoming 14-song Christmas album.
