Last month, we brought you news that Darren Criss was to perform for the one and only President Barack Obama at a LGBT fundraiser for the President in Los Angeles, and now, Darren himself has released a little snippet of his soundcheck for the event!
The Glee actor chose to get a bit old-school and warm up with a little of his StarKid hit, “Granger Danger” from A Very Potter Musical. You can watch the video, entitled A Very Potter Presidential Soundcheck, straight from Darren’s offical YouTube channel and posted below!
Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, no video of Darren’s actual performance for the President exists. According to E!, he played his original “Not Alone,” as well as classic hits “One Fine Day” and “That’s All,” and West Side Story’s “Something’s Coming.” Obama is reported to have called Darren “an outstanding talent.”
We’re just glad that we at least get to see this little bit of behind the scenes footage of such a prestigious event, direct from Darren Criss himself. Thanks, Darren!
