America’s Got Talent was live last night with the second quarterfinal, and Howard Stern not only let the acts hear his critiques, but he gave Howie Mandel a piece of his mind as well.
The night kicked off with Lion Dance Me. They are a Chinese Lion and Dragon dance act, and we haven’t seen much of them on TV yet. Their act is dangerous, but it seems to get repetitive and we found ourselves wanting it to be over.
Up next was Turf, who we would have expected to see later on in the show to build suspense, but he performed early. As amazing as his contortion moves are, he didn’t do much dancing and it seemed like he took a step backward as far as amazing moves go. He’s likely to advance anyway.
The All Ways made an interesting choice by performing Lady Gaga’s “Telephone,” and it wasn’t a good idea. The lead singer was way off on all of his pitches, and all he did was scream.
Howard desperately wants a magic act, and Hawley Magic has the potential to be it. Trisha said that if their act went wrong her back would end up broken. It goes correctly, but Howard says it’s too old fashioned and the judges don’t like their flair.
