In the coming weeks, many new photos from the set of The Dark Knight Rises will be released, starting with a few that may hint at the film’s plot.
The Dark Knight Rises will be filming in Pittsburgh until mid August, ensuring many new great looks into the mystery that is the final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman series.
Check out the set photos below!
The first image only confirms what we already know about the film, that it will be winter and there will be snow on the ground in Gotham City.
The more interesting of the two is the second image, which depicts a sign for Blackgate Prison, a penitentiary located on an Island off of Gotham City. The fact that this prison is being used in The Dark Knight Rises instead of Gotham State Penitentiary could give us some insight into the plot surrounding the film.
In a specific Batman story arc, Bane destroys Arkham Asylum’s main building, thus setting free many of Batman’s most infamous rogues. After Batman rounds them all up, they house the criminally insane in Blackgate Prison until Arkham is fixed.
Seeing as Bane, played by Tom Hardy, is the main villain in The Dark Knight Rises, it seems as though this set piece could truly happen, and with reports of an explosion and a prison break, it seems very likely. For more information on the prison break stunts, click here!
