Next week The Hunger Games: Catching Fire crew will descend upon Swan Manor in Atlanta to film a Capitol party scene for three days.
Pictures, below, indicate that work on the set is well underway. Swan Manor has a beautiful front lawn, and crews look to be adding a couple staircases to extend the party area further down. On Location Vacations reports that the scene will use some custom-made costumes, including one made of bricks.
The home has its own website and describes itself as an “elegant, classically styled mansion built in 1928 for the Edward H. Inman family, heirs to a cotton brokerage fortune.”
Last week we brought you a photo of crews prepping one of the District’s Justice Buildings where presumably a reaping will take place.
Though filming has started, we still have a long ways to go until we can see the film. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be released November 22, 2013. Lionsgate has been steadily announcing new cast members joining the franchise to take on new roles introduced in Suzanne Collins’ Catching Fire novel, many of whom we see in these set photos. Newcomers include Jeffrey Wright as Beetee, Jena Malone as Johanna, Amanda Plummer as Wiress, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch, Lynn Cohen as Mags, Meta Golding as Enobaria, Bruno Gunn as Brutus, Alan Ritchson as Gloss, E. Roger Mitchell as Chaff, and Stephanie Leigh Schlung as Cashmere. Filming is ongoing through December of this year in Atlanta and Hawaii.
Thanks, The Hob.
