Comedian Jacob Williams had to take the tough position of being a comedian when there’s already a comedian (and a great one) in the final. Howie thinks this could be problem, but personally prefers him because he is funny because he is who he is regardless of his material. Sharon reiterated that he’s awkward. Howard thinks he stumbled with his material and thought he was too nervous.
Father/daughter singing combo Shanice and Maurice promised that Shanice would shine and her father would back her up, but it seemed as if it was opposite of that. Howard said he thought Maurice was too powerful and that he overshadowed his daughter. Sharon said that they had a great sound choice, but she agreed with Howard about the balance. Howie reiterated that he thinks Shanice is the star and thinks she needs to go away from her father.
The action sports variety act All Wheel Sports decided to perform a part of their act in the dark, which meant that part of it they were truly flying blind. Sharon thought that the major fall actually added to the act because it showed how dangerous the act truly is. Howard had previously said they needed an “oh wow!” moment, but didn’t get it. Howie again said that he doesn’t know if their act transfers over to television.
Tim Hockenberry is the one amazing singer in the year that singers aren’t going through. He chose to sing John Lennon’s “Imagine.” Howie said he’s fabulous and would buy his recordings, but he doesn’t think singing is original enough to make it on to America’s Got Talent‘s finals. Sharon liked the simplicity. Howard called his performance the most moving singing performance in a long time and thinks he should be in the finals.
