Many shows are returning (and premiering) after the winter break, so let’s look into 2015 to see what might lay ahead. And what we want to lay ahead…
This article contains spoilers. Shows with spoilers are noted in the title.
‘The 100’ (season 2 spoilers)
The latest episode showed what some of us feared: Finn Collins died. It was equal parts sad and touching that Finn’s final moment was in Clarke’s arms. But why dwell on the past?
The future looks all right for Clarke, especially if Finn’s death means she and Bellamy can finally happen. She’ll probably need grieving time first, though. Guess that’s only appropriate.
Raven will also most likely be grieving. Fingers crossed she doesn’t turn into the annoying character who blames themselves for Finn’s death. That trope is old and tiresome.
‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’
Dandy Mott is the main reason I have stuck around for this season of American Horror Story. He’s awful, cruel, disturbed, and crazy. But he is by and large the best part of this season. On the one hand, it would be great for him to get caught and pay for his crimes. Retribution is justice! On the other hand, it’s much more interesting to see him loose on the town. Dandy is dandy.
As for Bette and Dot, they’ve had it rough so far. How about giving them a happy ending? Whether they find a man, stardom, or just find comfort in each other, it doesn’t matter. As long as they’re happy! But who are we kidding, this is American Horror Story. How often does anyone get a happy ending?
‘Arrow’ (season 3 spoilers)
Arrow pulled its own version of a “Reichenbach Fall,” with our hero Oliver Queen plummeting to his death after a confrontation with Ra’s al Ghul. It’s probably safe to assume Oliver isn’t actually dead, so the question is: how does he survive?
Unlike Sherlock, we’re crossing our fingers for a real explanation. Here’s hoping for the introduction of the Lazarus Pit.
‘Doctor Who’
When it comes to Doctor Who, our requests couldn’t be simpler. By that, I am of course referring to the overcomplicated plots, and conclusions that are thrown together in the last episodes. This time around, let’s have a story that can actually be followed, with an ending that has been set up throughout the season.
While they’re at it, it would also be nice for Clara to have a personality. And a consistent one at that.
‘Downton Abbey’ (season 5 spoilers)
Let’s start with the cutest couple: Anna and Bates. They just can’t catch a break. The back and forth of incarceration is even tiring me out. Next season needs to start with both Anna and Bates’ names being cleared. The rest of the season can be about them having a baby with no complications (I have personally had enough of pregnancies gone wrong, thank you very much).
Another couple is Mary and Tom. Although not actually a couple (yet), this tango has been danced since both have been widowed. With Tom set to leave for America, what better way to keep him at Downton than with a marriage to Mary?
‘The Flash’
Who is the yellow flash? That is one of the biggest questions the latter half of the season needs to answer. Wells is a top theory, but also an obvious one. Showing him with the suit feels like a red herring. My money is on Eddie. Although, it’s really funny to think that Wells beat himself up.
Then there’s Cisco’s comment about seeing red and yellow streaks during Barry and yellow Flash’s fight, the same as on the night Barry’s mom was killed. There were two people there that night. Is it possible that Barry learns to run so fast he can travel back in time? Maybe! Pull up your socks folks, looks like The Flash is hurtling into some time travel.
‘Glee’
Klainers, this one’s for you. Glee is finally ending, and there are many conclusions the fans want. Kurt and Blaine’s nuptials is possibly the most desired conclusion, followed closely by a marriage of Brittany and Santana. Looks like Glee’s success is largely dependent on how many characters get the ball and chain. Funny, since that also accurately describes my relationship with Glee.
‘Game of Thrones’
Do I really need to say it? DRAGONS! The dragons need to come to Westeros! Bring the White Walkers, too! What’s taking so long, anyway? Haven’t they been traveling since season 1? Oh right, they’re busy making winter babies. Wait what?
A Stark reunion is also desperately needed. We’re constantly teased of it, this almost-but-not-quite-in-reach carrot dangling in front of us. We keep stretching for it, but it’s always just beyond our grasp. Let’s make this the year we grab it. Before they’re all dead.
