Zach Braff will soon be joining Gabrielle Union, for reimagining of Cheaper By The Dozen over at Disney+.

According to Deadline, actor Zach Braff is the latest star to join the cast of the upcoming reimagined take of Cheaper by the Dozen that’s currently in development at Disney+.

Braff, who joins previously announced series star Gabrielle Union, is set to take on the father role for the family comedy.

The series itself is set to focus on a multiracial, blended family of 12, and follow along as they navigate family life at home, while also manning the family business.

Behind the camera, union is set to serve as an executive producer on the project alongside Shawn Levy. Levy, in turn, served as a director the 2003 remake, which found Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt starring as parents to 12 children.

Levy’s 2003 family comedy isn’t the first time Cheaper by the Dozen has been remade. The early 2000s family feature is a remake of the 1950 film of the same name, which, in turn, was based on novels co-written by Frank B. Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey.

Given that we’ve already seen quite a few iterations of the tale over the years, it’ll be interesting to see how Disney+ goes about setting its forthcoming series apart from previous remakes.

Cheaper by the Dozen is slated to debut via Disney+ sometime in 2022.
