Warner Bros. have released the first trailer for their Peter Pan adaptation, Pan, starring Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, and Levi Miller.

Yesterday we got our first look at Hugh Jackman as the pirate Black Beard, and now we have the first trailer for Pan featuring a talented cast and some exciting visuals. We get a look at the talented Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, Garrett Hedlund as a young Hook, and Levi Miller as a young Pan.

The trailer has a very uplifting feel to it, and while it does seem aimed at a very young audience, the calibre of actors involved makes us excited about its release. Hugh Jackman was an inspired choice for Black Beard, and we imagine he puts on a magnificent show as the deadly pirate in this Peter Pan origins film.

So far, Warner Bros. Peter Pan retelling is is looking solid, especially with Garrett Hedlund playing Hook, and Hugh Jackman playing Captain Blackbeard in the film.

Jackman definitely has a unique look as Captain Blackbeard, and visually the film is looking like it will definitely take us to the magical world in which Peter Pan has his adventures as a child. Although, director Joe Wright recently said, “This isn’t exactly the Neverland story you know.”

The film’s script has been written by Jason Fuchs, who has written for an array of TV shows including The Good Wife, Law and Order and The Sopranos. Berlanti Productions is producing the film with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter from Warner Bros.

The film is set during WWII and follows the original tale of Peter Pan after he realizes he must save Neverland from the pirate Captain Blackbeard. He’ll meet many great characters from the story we know, and we’re very excited about Hedlund and Mara’s involvement.

Pan’s release date has been set for July 17, 2015. The origins tale will be released in 3D and 2D.
