The Walking Dead season 5 finale is just three days away, and the official Facebook page for the massively popular show has released an image of Glenn wielding a major Easter egg, reminding us that there’s only, “3 days left,” but quickly took it down.

Update #2: The promotional image that was released hinting towards a new villain wasn’t even shown in the finale. This means that the show purposely led fans to believe we could possibly be seeing one villain, but we now know that the Wolves are the villains in season 6.

Were they misleading us on purpose? Or does the show still have plans to bring the villain associated with the bat into the show. We’ll have to wait and see in The Walking Dead season 6.

Update: The promotional image has been put back up on the official Facebook page minutes after this article was published, but no explanation as to why it was originally removed has been released.

The Walking Dead season 5 finale is Sunday, March 29, and fans are getting incredibly excited to see what will happen now that Rick has gotten into a massive fight with Pete. Alexandria was looking like a great place for the entire family to live, but this tussle could have a massive ripple effect, which could tear our group apart.

But, in a bit of strange promotion, The Walking Dead’s official Facebook page posted the image seen below to announce that we’re just three days away from the finale, which shows Glenn carrying a very particular bat known to any reader of The Walking Dead comic, and if they stay with comic canon, this image is somewhat of a spoiler.

Check out The Walking Dead season 5 finale promotional image below, but we’ll be discussing the possible spoilers after the image, so beware:

The bat that Glenn is holding may just be named Lucille, and if so, it’s very well-known by The Walking Dead comic book readers. It’s very possible that this could end up being Negan’s bat, which he beats people to death with.

We saw another bat with Glenn before, when he was almost killed by it at Terminus when he was next in line to get knocked out and his throat cut. This time, the bat has a trash bag covering up the hitting end of it, which could be to protect someone from being hurt by the barbed wire that Negan has wrapped around it (or keep the blood dripping hidden).

The show never follows the comic exactly, though, so we could end up seeing Negan, who is seen as the baddest man on the planet in The Walking Dead comic, or we could see the Wolves, or the Whisperers, or even Morgan.

If Negan does show up with his crew, called “Saviors,” it could be a brutal finale. With Rick saying in the promotional TV spots that they can either run or kill “them,” he’s most likely not talking about anyone in Alexandria, who the creators of the show are trying to get us to focus on.

It’s most likely going to be an outside threat that wreaks havoc on our favorite cast members in The Walking Dead season 5 finale, and we cannot wait to find out what happens.

The Walking Dead season 5 finale airs Sunday, March 29 on AMC. Be sure to keep an eye on any wooden bats that show up, now that the official Facebook page for the show has continued foreshadowing that we’ll be seeing Negan by the end of the 90-minute finale.

Let us know if you think the bat that Glenn is holding in the promotional image may be connected to Negan, or if it’s just the only weapon he can get a hold of in the finale. Speculate away!
