Looks like more True Blood could be making a huge comeback over at HBO.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO is currently in the process of developing a reboot of its hit vampire drama, True Blood.

Though the project is still in the early stages of development, the premium cable network already has a pretty big name attached to spearhead the True Blood reboot behind the scenes.

Reportedly, HBO has tapped Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to lead the proposed reboot. Aguirre-Sacasa is no stranger to the supernatural. Currently, the showrunner is likely best known for overseeing The CW’s hit teen drama, Riverdale.

In addition, Aguirre-Sacasa also serves as showrunner on spinoff, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina over at Netflix, which is gearing up to debut its four and final season in just a few weeks time.

No other details surrounding the proposed reboot are available at this time, and HBO has yet to comment on today’s news, so it looks like we’ll just have to sit tight while we wait for more information.

Based on the best selling series by Charlaine Harris, HBO’s original series adaptation of True Blood burst onto the scene in 2008 and ran for seven season in total. Starring Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, Nelsan Ellis, and Alexander Skarsgard, the series followed Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress living in Bon Temps, Louisiana.

It’s set in a world wherein vampires have “come out of the coffin” and walk freely among mankind thanks to the invention of a synthetic blood beverage called Tru Blood.
