Tom Hardy will definitely be returning to bring Eddie Brock to life in the Venom sequel.

When you think about it, Venom was basically just a romantic comedy between Venom and Eddie Brock, with some light pancreas eating. That’s why we’re thrilled that Tom Hardy is confirmed to be returning for the sequel.

Producer Amy Pascal spoke to Fandango about the upcoming Venom sequel, saying, “I can say that Tom Hardy will be back, magnificently playing that character as no one else can.” She went on to admire the actor by adding, “When you think of Venom, you’ll never be able to think of anyone but Tom Hardy sitting in that bathtub of lobsters. And once you saw Tom Hardy do this character, that’s all you needed to know.”

This isn’t a huge surprise, since Tom Hardy has signed on for three movies, but there’s been some huge shake-ups in major franchises lately, so it’s great to get confirmation.

In other exciting Spiderverse news, Pascal didn’t rule out the possibility of Tom Holland appearing in future Venom movies! “Everybody would love to see that. You never know someday… it might happen.”

While that sounds pretty non-committal, she also said, “We have big plans for Tom Holland to be a part of everything,” which is a bit more exciting! She jokingly (probably) added, “He needs to be in every movie that I ever work on!”

Venom 2 is set to premiere on October 2, 2020.
