Many of Rick Riordan’s books have been turned into graphic novels, and the second Kane Chronicles installment is the latest to do just that.

On Riordan’s website, it says, “In this exciting second installment of the three-book series, Carter and Sadie, offspring of the brilliant Egyptologist Dr. Julius Kane, embark on a worldwide search for the Book of Ra, but the House of Life and the gods of chaos are determined to stop them.

“This non-stop thrill ride is adapted and brought to life by Orpheus Collar, who developed the first Kane Chronicles graphic novel and worked on The Lightning Thief; The Graphic Novel; The Lost Hero, The Graphic Novel; and many other titles including The Amazing Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men.”

The graphic novel will be available October 6, 2015 in hardcover, paperback, and eBook format. It will be 160 pages long.

The official synopsis for the book reads, “Ever since the gods of Ancient Egypt were unleashed in the modern world, Carter Kane and his sister Sadie have been in trouble. As descendants of the House of Life, the Kanes have some powers at their command, but the devious gods haven’t given them much time to master their skills at Brooklyn House, which has become a training ground for young magicians.

“And now their most threatening enemy yet — the chaos snake Apophis — is rising. If they don’t prevent him from breaking free in a few days’ time, the world will come to an end. In other words, it’s a typical week for the Kane family.”

This year has been — and will continue to be — a busy one for Riordan. And the end of March, “The Crown of Ptolemy” short story was released in the back of the House of Hades paperback edition. In May, the “Ptolemy” short story was released as an eBook, and it contained the first chapter of Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Sword of Summer.

Coming up, Riordan will be releasing Percy Jackson’s Greek Heroes on August 18. Sword of Summer will hit shelves on October 6, the same day as the Throne of Fire graphic novel.
