Premiere Date | Episode Guide | Cast | Quotes

The Walking Dead has been a must-watch TV series on AMC since it debuted in 2010. Though interest from fans has waned over the years, due in part to numerous character deaths, the series remains one of the top rated shows on TV.

Currently in its ninth season, The Walking Dead has strayed more and more from the comics. It’s left fans with an entity that stands on its own as AMC looks to expand the series to original movies for some of the fan favorites. The first spinoff film will star Rick Grimes.

‘The Walking Dead’ season 9 quotes

Michonne: I’m glad you won your election.

Maggie Greene: I’m glad I grew up on a farm.

9×01, “A New Beginning”

Negan: [to Rick] When it finally goes to shit — and it will — make sure you come back and you tell me all about that day, too.

9×02, “The Bridge”

Rick Grimes: No, it’s the right thing to do. The future belongs to all of us now.

Daryl Dixon: How do they all get this future? And Glenn don’t, or Abraham, or Sasha, all the people the Kingdom lost, Hilltop, Oceanside. You ever think about what they want? What they’d do if they could?

Rick Grimes: Yeah, I do. I have. For a long time I wanted it too, maybe more than anyone. But killing each other, when the world already belongs to the dead, it’s not the way, not anymore.

9×03, “Warning Signs”

Daryl Dixon: I’d die for you. And I would’ve died for Carl. You know it. But you gotta hear me. You’re chasing something for him that ain’t meant to be, man. You just gotta let him go.

Daryl Dixon: Let him go.

Rick Grimes: I never… I never asked anyone to follow me.

Daryl Dixon: I know, I know. Maybe you should’ve.

9×04, “The Obliged”

Rick Grimes: They — they’re all dead.

Sasha Williams: Yeah. I know. And it’s okay.

Rick Grimes: How can it be okay? How can — How can this be okay?

Sasha Williams: Because you did your part. Like I did mine. Like the others did before us.

9×05, “What Comes After”

Negan: Wait a minute. Where you going? I thought you wanted my help.

Judith Grimes: I do, but just with math.

Negan: Why just math?

Judith Grimes: Because it doesn’t matter if you’re a good or bad person on the inside. The numbers don’t care.

9×06, “Who Are You Now?”

‘The Walking Dead’ in memoriam

Rick: Technically Rick isn’t dead, everyone just thinks he is. After being wounded while trying to escape a horde of walkers, Rick sacrificed himself to blow up a bridge and stop them from getting to the communities. He didn’t die though — Jadis actually had him picked up by a chopper to whisk him away to somewhere unknown.

Gregory: Gregory was finally killed off when Maggie decided to have him publicly hanged after he tried to plan her murder.

Jesus: In a case of an actor getting tired of not having his character written well, Tom Payne decided to leave The Walking Dead. His character was killed off after being stabbed by a whisperer.

Arat: Was another case of execution for her crimes by the Oceanside community.
