The Walking Dead‘s creator Robert Kirkman is continuing to drop the hints in the run up to the season 3 finale, by saying, “there may be a casualty or more.” Who do you think may be heading for the axe?

The Walking Dead‘s Robert Kirkman continues to leak more and more information about what could be expected in the final few episodes of the third season. Kirkman who spoke to EW.com, revealed that “there may be a casualty or more” by the end of the third season, leaving fans wondering who may not be with them by the climactic ending.

The cast of The Walking Dead have always said that they really do have to skip to the back pages of every script when it’s given to them just to ensure they have made it through the episode. However, with this season in mind, there are certain characters who spring to mind when wondering who may or may not get the axe from AMC’s hit television show.

Kirkman gave no evidence about who this may be, but could this be a smokescreen for fans? We all know that this season is leading up to a “Rick vs. The Governor” scenario, and with Rick having severely limited numbers, as well as ammunition, even after his supplies from Morgan Jones, this could be one hell of a battle.

However, the reality of the showdown between Rick and The Governor will most likely end with one or more deaths from the main cast. Hershel Greene, Beth Greene, Andrea, Carol Peletier, Merle Dixon and maybe even Carl Grimes are the most likely to get the chop from Rick’s group, but who can say? This is The Walking Dead who are fearless when it comes to killing off the cast.

But, who says that the casualties are going to come from Rick’s group? There are many characters we must keep in mind, especially those who are almost fringe characters such as Tyreese and his small group, and also the likes of Milton Mamet, The Governor’s right hand man.

Kirkman also looked back on each season and how they’ve finished, with a different location for each season becoming a cycle for The Walking Dead. Will Rick’s group be leaving the prison and moving on to a different landscape?

Kirkman said, “I will say that there is a resolution to the storyline at the end of the season, as people would expect. It becomes a whole complete story that you’ve been able to experience over the course of season 3. And It will set things up nicely for season 4. There are new places to go in season 4, but whether or not that means a new setting or new story direction or simply new characters I can’t really nail down any specifics.”

Who do you think may be in the firing line of The Walking Dead? Who do you think may be likely to be killed off? And, who will come out on top, Rick or The Governor?

The season finale of The Walking Dead 3×16 “Welcome to the Tombs” airs on March 31 at 9pm ET/PT over on AMC.
