The Walking Dead 3×13 “Arrow on the Doorpost” had an exclusive clip show on Conan last night, with Merle set to disrupt Rick and Daryl’s plans.

Robert Kirkman was interviewed last night on Conan with the creator of The Walking Dead giving almost nothing away regarding what might be happening in the final few episodes of the third season. In a relaxed studio with Conan, Kirkman joked about what commercial deals he has turned down, including The Walking Dead branded perfume and energy drinks.

However, Kirkman allowed a sneak peek of the upcoming episode, 3×13 “Arrow on the Doorpost” which seems to have opened the door for Merle to create havoc within Rick’s camp. Here’s the exclusive clip that the Conan team have kindly provided fans on their website.

Glenn, played by Steven Yeun, having taken on a more authoritative role in recent episodes, is seen organising the camp until Merle has something to say. As the team are preparing the weaponry, presumably dropped off from Rick’s return from seeing Morgan in last week’s episode, it’s interesting to note that Beth is packing some of the guns and is looking likely to join the battle.

Beth has been quiet since her introduction to the series, and hopefully we will see some character development from her in this upcoming episode.

But, the real angle of the clip is Merle’s reaction to the plans Rick has left Glenn in charge of. Merle wants to just head off and kill The Governor as he announces, “What we should be doing is loading some of this firepower in a truck and pay a visit to The Governor. We know where he is right now.” Michonne disagrees, but Merle’s jealousy of being left on the sidelines whilst Rick and Daryl head off isn’t sitting right with him.

The clip follows the two earlier previews of 3×13 “Arrow on the Doorpost” that were released immediately after the 3×12 “Clear” premiere that you can see down below.

What do you think about the exclusive clip revealed on Conan? Will Merle interrupt the plans that Rick and Daryl have left the camp back at the prison? Or will Merle venture off on his own and seek revenge on The Governor?

Check out The Walking Dead‘s next installment, “Arrow on the Doorpost,” over on AMC this Sunday evening at 9pm ET/PT.
