CBS has shared a new promo for this week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, teasing an answer to a very long-debated question. Oh, and something about the Universe. Minor spoilers ahead.

The Big Bang Theory has been on hiatus for the past few weeks, but the comedy juggernaut will return this Thursday night with “The Cooper/Kripke Inversion.” CBS has shared a preview for the episode, which suggests that Thursday night might just be the start of a radically new chapter in certain characters’ lives. Confused? Check out the clip right here:

We admit, our attention is somewhat divided between our desperation to hear Sheldon’s answer (unless it includes a “Bazinga!”) and how amazing it is to see Penny in full-on Shamy-shipper mode. Actor Jim Parsons has hinted that Sheldon and Amy’s relationship might be moving in an unexpected direction; could we possibly see Sheldon and Amy climb that particular relationship-mountain before season 6 is out?

CBS’s official summary has this to say:

Sheldon is forced to work with Barry Kripke and faces a crisis of confidence. Meanwhile, Howard and Raj spend $1,000 on action figures of themselves.

This clip from “The Cooper/Kripke Inversion” gives us a sense of what the coming conflict may be like, and now that we think about it, Sheldon might want to make sure he conquers Kripke before getting started on Amy.

Another new episode of The Big Bang Theory, entitled “The Spoiler Alert Segmentation,” will air next week, featuring further relationship roughing-ups. CBS says:

When Sheldon and Leonard fight, it affects Penny and Amy’s living arrangements. Meanwhile, Raj takes care of Mrs. Wolowitz while Howard is away.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
