After a short hiatus, The 100 is back for season 3, episode 9. As trouble brews at Polis, tragedy may strike at Arkadia.

Well guys, we’re over the hump, and on to the second half of episodes in The 100 season 3.

Episode 9, titled “Stealing Fire,” promises trouble both at Polis and Arkadia, and we may just have to steel ourselves for the show’s third main character death.

In Arkadia, Kane and Lincoln are both in trouble, as Pike plans to execute them both. Bellamy has finally decided that batting for Team Pike is not going to win his team any glory, and will be working with Miller, Harper and Monty to save their friends.

But is it too little, too late? While we’re more than a little excited for the long-awaited Kabby kiss (which better go down this week!), The 100 might just pull a fast one on us and surprise everyone by killing Kane instead of Lincoln, the one who seems most likely to exit the show (based on Ricky Whittle’s casting in American Gods and his comments on Twitter).

We’ll have to anxiously wait and see how it all plays out!

Meanwhile in Polis, Clarke is devastated after the death of Lexa. Her mourning isn’t lessened by the fact that a new Commander now has to be chosen, and if you’ve been following the WonderCon coverage for The 100, you might already have an idea of who that new Commander is going to be.

Lexa’s presence will still be heavily felt, as Clarke (with her new buddy Murphy) debate what to do about the A.I. chip Titus extracted from her. If Grounder lore (and ALIE science) is to be believed, Lexa’s essence is still inside of it, and Clarke will likely do everything she can to protect it.

In all likelihood, the fact that Lexa’s conscience is on that chip will eventually provide the link between Clarke and Jaha’s stories, but in “Stealing Fire,” everyone is still fighting their own separate battles.

It looks to be a gruesome hour of television, with The 100 writer Kim Shumway describing it as “seriously messed up.” And we’ve come to expect nothing less from the gritty CW drama! As always, look out for our review tomorrow morning right here on Hypable.

The 100 season 3, episode 9 “Stealing Fire” airs at 9/8c on The CW.
