THR has learned that MTV is in “early talks with creator and showrunner Jeff Davis to turn Teen Wolf into a potential anthology with a rebooted take featuring a largely new cast — though there could be some returning characters — and new setting.”

What’s more, the current show will continue.. in “podcast form” after the show finishes airing.

“These characters and these stories have hit a peak,” MTV president Chris McCarthy told THR. “We are talking with Jeff about how do we actually keep that franchise alive. And the beauty of the evolution of media is you can see the series going on through a series of podcasts and then see a resurrection of a new class in a couple years.”

MTV plans to let the current show “marinate [for] a year or so” before getting started on the Teen Wolf reboot. McCarthy says that they won’t proceed until they find the right story and cast. Meanwhile, the podcast will start “shortly after the series finale,” so fans won’t be waiting long to get their fix.

Sounds like Teen Wolf isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It’s great news for fans as long as you can accept a new era for the fandom.
