Teen Wolf season 5, episode 4 just finished airing! Check out our recap and discuss with fellow fans.

The episode opens with Parrish lying on a couch, flipping the Queen of Diamonds. Curiously, the queen looks just like Lydia…

Lydia and Parrish test his abilities by lighting a lighter under his palm. After his first attempt, Lydia tells him not to think about the lighter or pain. On his next try, Parrish zones out, feeling nothing. Parrish wipes the flame’s residue from his palm, flesh completely intact.

Parrish tells Lydia about his recurring dream where he’s carrying a body toward a large tree stump, which Lydia immediately recognizes as the Nemeton. When asked how the dream ends, Parrish hesitates and simply says that he puts the body on the rings of the tree and… That’s it.

We cut back to Parrish relaxing on a couch, still flipping the card. However, now there are two cards, one with Lydia’s face burned off. We also see the rest of his dream: numerous bodies surrounding the Nemeton, engulfed in flames emanating from Parrish.

At the police station, Donovan is going mad in his holding cell. The Dread Doctors, one of which who uses a cane to walk (which the camera lingered on), enter Donovan’s cell.

Scott, Stiles, and Theo find a mess in the police station. Theo creates a tourniquet for Lydia so she doesn’t bleed out. Hesitant to leave Lydia with Theo, Stiles follows Scott into the basement where they find Malia with Tracy’s body. Malia tries to describe the Dread Doctors, but only convinces the boys that she didn’t hurt Tracy.

Donovan is strapped to a table in the Dread Doctors’ lair. One doctor notes that “his condition looks promising” and proceeds to remove Donovan’s teeth one by one, causing him to shift into creature vaguely resembling a vampire.

In surgery, Lydia counts down from 10 and begins to hear the Dread Doctors’ clicking. Looking around groggily, Lydia witnesses one surgeon transform into a Dread Doctor and is told to keep counting as the scene fades to white.

Stiles scribbles new information onto his board as Malia wipes away “Who is the desert wolf?,” giving Stiles a reassuring look. Scott and Kira share a tender moment before Deaton rudely interrupts with jars of creature samples.

Studying the samples, Deaton comes up with a theory on how Tracy crossed the mountain ash: “Someone is trying to make supernatural creatures by non-supernatural means, blurring the lines between science and supernatural.”

Lydia wakes up in a recovery room with Parrish by her bedside. Parrish reveals that he knows a little Jiu Jitsu and agrees to help teach Lydia how to fight.

Scott perks up in AP Bio when the teacher starts talking about beings with two sets of DNA, called a “chimera.” At the end of class, the teacher gives out drop forms to people she thinks should drop and implies that Scott should take one, but then is seemingly disappointed when he does.

Theo swaggers into the Dread Doctors’ dungeon, talking to Donovan about his psych evaluation (where he scored high on the on psychopathic/deviant scale). He tells Donovan that he has the power to make Sheriff Stilinski suffer by going after someone he loves.

Mason brings Liam to a secret club called “Sinema,” which is like a cross between old Hollywood and a rave. Mason likes what he sees in the club, especially Brett’s bod.

Back in the library, Malia recalls her experience with the Dread Doctors while absently playing with her pen. She flees the library, promising to meet Stiles back at his place in a bit.

Mrs. McCall calls Scott and Kira to help a screaming teen. Scott uses his alpha healing power to ease the guy’s pain, cringing as blackness creeps up his veins. Mrs. McCall notes that not only should he have been dead 10 hours ago from the scorpion venom, but also the scorpion should’ve been 10 feet tall. The victim names his attacker: Lucas.

Who’s Lucas? He’s the guy that catches Mason’s eye. On the other side of the club, Liam tells Brett that he has a bad feeling about being there. That he can sense another supernatural-ish creature there, but can’t place them.

Mason leads Lucas into the “Night of the Living Dead” cavern and the two begin to kiss. As they do so, spikes pop out of Lucas’ neck. Interrupting the moment, Brett throws Lucas across the room, telling Mason to run.

Outside Sinema, Kira trips an alarm but swiftly silences it, to which Scott responds “God, I love you.” The best part is that, as Kira points out, Scott once again did something to change everything but he didn’t even notice.

Inside, Lucas injures Brett and would’ve finished him off if Liam hadn’t tackled him to the ground. Scott and Kira quickly join the fight.

Sitting in Tracy’s room, Malia notices a book called The Dread Doctors on the nightstand. Whoever lent it to Tracy thought that it was “cheesy stuff, but still a fun, scary read.”

Back at Sinema, Liam knocks Lucas out. Kira is seemingly taken over by her kitsune spirit and tries to kill Lucas, but Scott intervenes, startling Kira. Lucas looks like he’s going to wake up when he’s pierced through the chest by a metal rod.

The pack looks up to find the three Dread Doctors standing above them (one with a harpoon gun) who think Lucas’ condition was terminal. When Scott asks what that means, one doctor simply says “Failure.”

Mrs. McCall gives Scott a much-needed pep talk as they put away Lucas’ body. As the lights go out in the coroner’s room, Parrish steals Lucas’ body and, similar to his “dream,” carries it to the Nemeton to burn.

On his way home, Stiles needs to make a few duct tape repairs to the Jeep. Before he can finish, Donovan walks up behind him, reaches out his lamprey-looking palm, and slaps it on Stiles’ shoulder, causing him to scream in pain.
