Amidst Taylor Swift’s ongoing battle with Big Machine and Scooter Braun over the rights to her masters, a bit of unexpected news emerged that served to excite Swifties far and wide.

We’re talking of course about word straight from Taylor that she and Netflix have been secretly working on a documentary about her for the past few years now.

Though Swift mentioned it in passing at the time in connection to how ex-label Big Machine was attempting to block her from using her own music and live performance footage as part of the Netflix documentary, the Lover singer didn’t go further into when we could expect the documentary to drop.

Now, it looks as though we’ve finally got our answer to that question— as well as plenty more details as to what Swift’s upcoming Netflix documentary will entail!

In a press release sent out on Wednesday (December 4), Netflix announced that their upcoming original documentary, Taylor Swift: Miss Americana would officially be making its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2020.

The documentary will then make its debut exclusively on Netflix sometime in early 2020.
